The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), has a position open for a professional pilot. In addition to being the world’s largest and most influential aviation association, with headquarters in Frederick, Maryland, we operate a wide variety of general aviation from light single engine to turbojet. We are looking for a primary command pilot for our Cessna Caravan who can also provide pilot services for fleet aircraft as well as other assigned responsibilities.
In this position, you will report to the VP of AOPA Aircraft Operations, Office of the President. In addition to superior skills as a pilot, this position requires a strong dedication to the promotion of general aviation. This position will be on a contractual basis through 2009 becoming a full-time staff position with benefits January 1, 2010.
Responsibilities will include being a command pilot for Cessna Caravan, G1000 equipped, and all aspects of operations for Cessna Caravan, overall CRM for aircraft assigned as PIC, and flight-deck crew responsibilities CJ3; PIC on aircraft utilized for staff business travel and AOPA industry outreach in light piston single engine aircraft; and other AOPA duties as assigned.
To qualify, you must have a BA/BS degree, piloting credentials including Commercial Pilot Certificate instrument inclusion, Airplane Single and Multi Engine land ratings, Second Class Medical, 4000 hrs TT, 250 turbine, 50 Hrs PIC Turbine (other flight time considered depending on mix); G1000, Caravan and CJ3 experience preferred. You should have superior communication and interpersonal skills, an attention to detail with planning experience. Travel is required.
